There was a tennis tournament at my high school today and I had this image in my head of a player throwing their serve into the sun. So, I got this first shot, and thought it was exactly what I was imagining, except that the building was in the way, so I had to go to another court to try and recreate that image without the building in the way. I just cant seem to hit the nail on the head. I feel like these images have a lot of potential, I just can't seem to hit it. I know the second is extreme, may be somewhat a result of my frustration for not being able to get what I want. I attached the originals if anyone would like to take a shot at editing. Thanks.

Yeah, I really like 1 too. It's exactly what I want. Her form is perfect, that darn building is just distracting.

a newbie here, but wont the shot be nicer if taking with a flash or align the ball to be in the same spot as the sun?

no, my vision is the have them silhouetted, not lit. and if the ball is directly in line with the sun, there will be no shadow and you wont see the ball at all.

I am not that good anyway but here are my opinions..

1) I suggested flash earlier as there are too many distracting stuff in the background, interferring with the silhouette.. Maybe you can shoot slighting lower angle so to eliminate the distracting building and fence?

2) I also feel that the silhouette is not strong enough to bring out the feeling. maybe more PP can be done?

3) might be hard to do so, but I think you can use the flare to enhance your feeling, ie the aspiring tennis player..

4) May I know what is the EXIF?

I like the shot for number 2, just that the fence is rather distracting..

This is what I feel, no offence..
