There was a tennis tournament at my high school today and I had this image in my head of a player throwing their serve into the sun. So, I got this first shot, and thought it was exactly what I was imagining, except that the building was in the way, so I had to go to another court to try and recreate that image without the building in the way. I just cant seem to hit the nail on the head. I feel like these images have a lot of potential, I just can't seem to hit it. I know the second is extreme, may be somewhat a result of my frustration for not being able to get what I want. I attached the originals if anyone would like to take a shot at editing. Thanks.

"While at a house party, I was told, "You take great pictures. You must have an awesome camera". I kept to myself the rest of the night until I was leaving, then I said, "Dinner was great. You must have an awesome stove."

On the first three, get down lower - perhaps lay on the ground so you can shoot up at a much greater angle to eliminate the fences, building, cars, and other background crud. Potentially a good shot if only the ball, sun, silhouette, and dramatic sky are included.

Yup. Get lower, closer - except you'll look like you're perving if your subject is a female . I can't see exif but you could try a longer focal length too. I think you have the right idea and you definitely can get a good simple silhouette.
