The local big cat rescue operation received 5 Siberian tiger cubs a few weeks ago. Since they were still handling these cubs when I took the photos, I'll call them pets. However, that won't last long. They are gaining about a pound a day, and are very rough to handle now, even to bottle feed. Since this is pretty rare, I thought the forum might be interested in seeing some photos, even though technically they are not pets.

Here is an overall view of their public enclosure to show their size.

BUYING A CANON DOESN'T MAKE YOU A PHOTOGRAPHER, IT MAKES YOU A CANON OWNER.

The one where it is pressed through the cattle panel is just precious! What a cute kitty! :)

Even if it will actually eat me for dinner in two years... I actually had a pet chicken who really reminded me of a velociraptor, so I don't mind scary looking pets - you just make sure you keep them well fed. ;)

I like to push buttons on thingies that take pictures. Sometimes I like to push other buttons, too.
I only bite on the second Tuesday of every week, usually only mean people - they kinda taste like chicken...

What, were these privately owned? It's wrong that people can have them as pets, breed them willy nilly and then just get rid of them. I suppose it's lucky they didn't just turn them loose. Are there any restrictions to owning endangered species in the US?
I'm glad they're with a rescue organisation now, what will happen to them.

These were obtained from two zoos that went out of business, and this facility will be home. They told me that they feed 500 pounds of chicken to the cats every day. They have all sizes of cats. The largest of the tigers here weighs over 600 pounds.

Poor chickens... are they dead first?

I feel sorry for any animal in a cage, even if it's dangerous. I always wish that they could have a more reasonable habitat. Does this place have large fenced in areas so it's more like the wild or is it like some places where they're kept in big cages and people get to visit and pay to go in and see them?

Dead, straight from the same place that restaurants buy from.

Was curious because some animals will only eat things that they get to kill first. Had a neighbor with a stupid python (you'll understand stupid is meant in context) - it would only eat things that were living, but wouldn't eat anything that fought back, so the owner would have to buy live mice and then break out their teeth and cut off their front toes... :(
