Grackles aren't universally loved, and can be a royal pain. On the other hand, they can be very colorful and attractive. I've learned to accept, and even appreciate, them. Grizz Cream of the Crop More info | Feb 10, 2012 11:49 | #6 Nice Stan! Yeah the poor Grackle, its a beautiful bird with all the reflective colors but on the other hand when they invade your backyard feeder and devour the food and keep the little birds away they can be a PITA. lol But they are doing what they need to do. Like the Cormorant! and the Grackle! Thanks, Craig. I once threw out bread for the grackles. In a short order, all I had to do was walk outside and have swarms of them. No more bread for them. And it's like rule #1-never feed grackles or gulls. My wife walked out on the beach last year w/ a tube of sunscreen in her hand and was immediately beset w/ birds. She screamed-I laughed and then I was in trouble-go figure. Guess that's why it's rule #1. Rog
