I love the lighting and b/w conversion of this shot. Reminds me of Yousuf Karsh's famous portrait of Hemingway. However, the pose, with the subject leaning out of the image doesn't work with me. Would love to see this same shot with the subject straightened up, zoomed in a bit and the Nike logo cloned out. I think it would make for a great wall hanger. You don't have image editing turned on but If I may, I'll show you what I mean.

Thanks! I'm a big fan of his work including the portrait you mentioned.

I don't mind you having a go with and edit for this picture.

This was actually a quick portait I did at the end of a shoot. He was my assistant for the shoot and I took a couple of pictures of him and another guy. I was going through the proofs from that shoot and decided to do something with one of these shots. It ended up being heavily cropped and rotated to remove the other guy. So, that may have something to do with the awkwardness of the pose. My buddy liked the picture (used it for his facebook profile), but also thought it wouldn't hurt to lose the Nike logo.

I'm just going through a phase where I like to leave things as they were for a picture...at one point I'd clone out have the picture to make every detail perfect.

Thanks for the comments.

I was thinking something along these lines.

QUOTED IMAGE

Ahhhhhhh the A-10. I have been in the AF for 16 years, and I still get giddy when I see pictures or that bad boy flying. It's a beast when taking out a target too. This is an awesome shot!!!

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.
You're a ghost driving a meat-coated skeleton made from stardust, riding a rock, hurtling through space. Fear Nothing!

Thank you, much appreciated. It was so hot and sunny here yesterday I don't think I was even able to see what I was shooting.
