Hello everyone. I think have an idea what could be causing this, but Whenever I shoot children that have brown hair, the finial image always shows the hair as looking red.....
My first hunch was a white balance issue so I tried auto WB and custom WB with a grey card....didn't help. I use Alien Bee 800 strobes. I've heard that sometimes they produce a "pinkish" hue but it's only the hair and not the overall image.
Again, I'm at a loss on this one but it's getting really frustrating. I'm not sure how to fix this. Does anyone else have similar issues? anyone have a fix? Thanks.

I swear....she's not a red head.

below are some sample images of brown haired kids looking red....

I have this same "problem" with my son. The funny thing is, I have two red headed nieces from two different sets of parents so everyone thinks he is going to be a redhead eventually. Im not sure why it happens but Id guess that it has something to do with their hair being so fine that some light travels though, and perhaps the light that reflects is in the red spectrum. Thats a total guess based off of zero actual knowledge about hair, light or color. :D
