Dear Canon......

Your price is too high on the 24-70 f/2.8 lens.... It has no IS, and basically the same exact lens as the Version 1... the only thing you threw in was a cool looking lens hood.......

I still think they're going to announce an IS version with a forthcoming body like the 5DX/5D Mark III. It's not so crazy. Both IS versions of the 70-200 f/2.8 and f/4 were released after the initial release of a non-IS version.

Exactly...

Version 1:
1200.00

Version 2 no IS (same as version 1):
2400.00

Version 3 with IS:
More than the 1DX....

Let's face it.....there's nothing cheap at all in photography. Even the "inexpensive" lenses aren't cheap. :sad:
$1600-$1800 for the non IS version 2 would have been acceptable. Then they could release the IS version for $2400....I think most would be alright with that.
