Zooohhhh myyyy goooooshhhhh, wow. Just wow. I mean, perhaps my copy of the non L 100mm macro was that bad or the 100mm L is just that fantabulous that I'm still in shock.... As Kai's YouTube video said... "the devil is in the details" and whoa, it hits lots of it...

So pleased with the upgrade.

Prime, ya... Not sure when I'll be able to afford my next, but it will for sure be nice & wide. Something like 24, 30, or 35....

^^ Yeah, the prime slide is nasty.

@OP - Glad you're happy. Bad news, now you're hooked.

Next, you will go look at the 200 f/2 thread, the 300 f/2.8 thread, and the 135 f/2, and the 85....

After that, you'll be calculating new credit card payments, or explaining why you didn't buy an RV instead.

And once you hit that level, you find these odd ideas, like manual focus primes by exotic names such as Zeiss, followed by something called a tilt-shift, like a 17 or a 90, by which time you want good lights, and something called a pocket wizard, right around the same time you find yourself thinking about which light (sabre) meter to buy.

Only then will you be a jedi.

And broke.

Congratulations on your first purchase on the road to enlightenment (sic).

Hmmmmmmmmmmm............ low light, on that body........

I think you'll have to get these:
35L, 50L and 85L. Maybe a 135, just in case a good indoor volleyball game breaks out.

(On the Sigma, I have no evidence other than this forum, but if I did order one, I'd shoot hard with it for a couple of days and if I sniffed even one possible problem I'd exchange it for a new one. Love the results from it, though.)

Doesn't matter which order. You'll end up with all of them.

Just a guess, but have you tried a fisheye yet? Or a lensbaby?

Powerful is the dark side, the prime side, it is.

I had the canon 50mm 1.4

Amazing lens, but too long for my taste, as to why I want something wide.

Anyone have suggestions for a similar lens to the Sig 30 1.4?

That is a POTN member.

Just because of cost with very good performance, it is a good option.

The Sigma 30mm f/1.4.

Anyone have suggestions for a similar lens to the Sig 30 1.4?

The Sigma 20mm or 24mm f/1.8. They're Full-Frame lenses too, so if you do upgrade they still work. Those being wider options, and the 24mm has a much closer Minimum Focusing Distance, meaning you can get closer to your subject(s).

If you don't like Sigma, then there is the Canon 28mm f/1.8, but from what I hear and the reviews I've read, the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 is better (as long as you don't get a bad focusing copy  )

Ya, all very interesting, on the case of saving money, id prefer to snag a 30 1.4, and as far as camera goes, i may dive into a 7D in the summer if a friend buys my T3i.... would you agree there
7D > 60d?

7D > 60d?

To me, relatively speaking, it's not too big of a price gap, so Ide do it.

$1200 roughly, 7D used
$800 roughly, 60D used

The 7D's AF is very nice.
