After doing some research and looking around a bit, I scored a Vivitar (Kiron) Series 1 70-150mm f/3.8 today for......$15. $24 with shipping. Looks barely used, and boxed for 15 years, at least. Minolta MD mount. Hope I got a good deal.

Nice catch. I won myself a Vivitar (kiron) 70-210 for a nice sum of $40 shipped. Came with a hoya filter that actually costed more than the lens itself :D

Since it is MD mount, you'll have to take the lens apart somewhat to do the conversion. Post pics of the conversion, I'm curious myself how involved it would be to disassemble the Vivitar zoom.

Photography is not defined by what gear you own.

I had a Vivitar 70-150 for my Minolta SRT-102 back when. No idea what series it was. Probably bought it in the late 70's. I know it cost more than $15. ;)

Your sympathy is appreciated...lol - Looks like I ****ed up - not realizing that MD lenses don't adapt to EOS cameras. Got caught up in the "Kino/Kiron lenses are hidden gems in the MF world" postings around town, and never thought to check to make sure the MD mount works on EOS cameras. :( My three M42 mount Takumars are halfway decent, so when I saw the $14.00 Kiron I jumped on it. It will probably be for sale when it gets here in a few days. - live and learn, I suppose.

The mount can be modified to fit. There are even some DIY instructions if you search (and are up to it).

On my DIY Directory are a lot of mount conversion instructions - but as far as I know not for this specific lens. There is a big difference between original lenses conversion and alternative lenses in way of conversion.
I have simple converted a Vivitar 135/2.8 Close Focus to Canon EOS - and some Canon FD and Minolta Rokkor lenses, a Steinheil Quinar and some others.

The lens was 15 years boxed - hope you don“t see any fungus inside!

Canon Rebel T2 film camera for $50 - seems expensive for me, but on Ebay the prices for these cameras seem relative high, wonder why?
