I guess I should have introduced Huey with a duck shot first!!!! This from my first proper outing, before I did the egret. I usually lie on the ground and hold my camera and lens, but tis a bit difficult now, so for the duck, was actually on my bum, leaning back as far as I could, and resting Huey on my knees. I didn't have my extra strong tripod or monopod yet. So it was half handheld!

From the tripod. (I now have an induro tripod, very happy with it)

Those are awsome pictures. The first one is my favorite but they are both great. Just beautiful.

Beautiful shots, Tina. IQ is off the scale. You must be so happy with these first results!

Alright Tina, I'm just going to have to ask you to stop posting.....I don't have $14K to spare right now - :)
The IQ is through the roof on both, and the pose in the second is just darling. I'm thinking you're liking Huey a lot!

Beautiful shots, Tina. That 800 is earning its keep. You may want to try a groundpod when you lie on the ground.

Lol, it is funny, but 800 isn't all that far really.

thankyou Levina. I am struggling a little with the contrast on some of the images, but others I am very happy with. It certainly is one very sharp lens.

Thankyou very much Steve. Lol, well, I think Steve (nighthound) does work way out of my league, and he is using a 500! I could class this as my midlife crisis. Funny, only 5 years ago, I was having a heart attack at spending $2000 on a lens! My sister convinced me to buy some land with her a few years ago now, and just sold it for a small profit, so this is a bit like winning lotto, otherwise I would not have been able to afford it.

Lol, yep, Huey is the new man in my life, pity he doesn't do housework too! Well, you never know Fee, I am travelling to texas either next year, or the year after, as my son has an american girlfriend, so will let you know when I am coming over.

Thanks Stan. I do have a ground pod, but I haven't used it yet properly, and I would need to plan a little beforehand if using it with huey, as I have the arca-swiss release plate on my foot, and it needs an alan key to remove, so it isn't something I can do mid-field so to speak. Unless there is something out there I can put on the pod, that takes that style foot?
