Hi Rion,

Nice capture and overall I think the image works well. I'm going to start critique with 2 glaring (pun intended) things I notice -

1. overexposed: her upper face/forehead is so over exposed it loses the detail. Either you've fired the flash directly at her forehead or it's just pp (hopefully!). Dial back the exposure range as the rest of the image (her shoulders, background) looks well lit. If you did that much it would be a vastly better image in my opinion, if you softened the lighting it would fit better with the 'vintage' filter you put over the image.

2. composition: just my opinion, there is too much hair happening on the right handside, if you cropped it tighter (and brought her face/eyes off centre to the right) I think it would work better. She has a very prominent forehead in the take, does she have one with her chin tilting up rather than down? That would help with the prespective of her face. Cropping the image would a help with that vintage filter - if you're not looking carefully you could mistake it for a bad case of dandruff.

3. Details: There is a lot of detail in her rings, lips hands eyes etc, you'd bring that out more if you did a tighter crop and softened the image overall. I'm not a fan of all the work you did (or maybe didnt at all?) do to her face to smoothen it out... I think the last thing a musician wants is to appear fake. Any life lines etc in my opinion make a musician more endearing, people want to relate to music and aspire to fashion right?

4. what is that white streak in the bottom left? It's bugging me so maybe try cloning it out?

other thoughts: I really like the warmth of the background, her top and her hair, it all works really well. try pulling out some more details and throw up some other takes from this shoot.

Here is the same image with a little more color in the face. I think I like the look of it blown out "betta."
