I know this is a rather new lens... and I was wondering if this might be a good cost saving version of the EF 24-105 f4L.

The focal length would make this a great walk-about lens. I'm not so happy about the f/2.8-4 aperture (I would rather see a constant f#), but still not all too bad. Has anybody found or done any reviews on this lens yet??
