One suggestion on my previous posting from this location was that my shot would have benefited from a wider angle lens. I went back to my folder and found this. Hopefully it is more interesting than the original posted under the Maryhill Art Museum title.

For Titus213 it should look pretty familiar. (Photo taken in Dec, 2009).

That's a lot of haze. Not much you can do about that though other than try a different day and different time of day.

A bit underexposed, nothing really stands out as anything special about the photograph. Although the landscape itself is nice..

I agree with what has been said already, but I think its a decent looking landscape.

Thanks to all for the comments. I think I probably hosed the exposure some in PP while I was trying to compensate for the haze. I figured that would be a problem when I posted but was interested in the comments on whether I was close on the composition.

I really appreciate the constructive feedback that everyone here provides.

You have image edit ok on so thought I would take a stab to see if I could pull any detail out.

Kind of noisy where the haze is and from exposure being bumped some.

edit, I fail at linking photobucket lol...I never use it

@Justinz - you did a pretty good job, brought out some nice details and used the haze for effect instead.

I like this view better than the last.

And I like Justin's edit.

That edit is an improvement but I think the grass is too dark so I restored it.

I like justinz a little better. Qbz's edit makes the grass a little edgy for me. The detail of the water really pops an there is a lot more than definition to the terrain edges on the right hand side than my original shot. I am always confused as to how far to push the PP and I guess my other mistake may be trying to get it right all in one PP instead of making several to compare and pick between.

Thanks to both for the edits.

It appears that there is direct sun unfettered by haze or cloud falling on the grass in the foreground, so I thought it should be brighter; but your tastes are what counts if you like it darker. It would make a better shot if you could capture it on some cold winter morning when there is no haze.

;) I definitely like both edits better than mine and I like that the grass has been lightened in your shot. I think it is just between shapening the photo and brightening\greening the grass it just starts to get a little overly crisp (for me). And there is nothing that I would like better than the chance to go shoot it again. Unfortunately I am on the east coast and it might be difficult to schedule that return trip for just the right day with just the right conditions. This was an opportunistic shot taken on a whirlwind tour to the edge of the high desert area east of Vancouver, WA.
