Yes, the border was her idea, and for screen viewing will be fine. I may suggest that we lose it for the print, though.

I recently took my daughter on a job (Birthday Party) over the weekend.. (She just turned 13) I gave her my D80+SB-600 put it in auto and told her to troll around and get pictures of all the kids..

I cant wait to process them to see how she did..

Also makes it easier when I tell the wife that A new Cam is in my horizons..

Possible switch back to Canon.. (That is a whole diff story)

If I do go the (D400 I wish) or D700 route, I can give my daughter my D80... Keep the D300 as a back up.

Even nicer to not get the response "What's wrong with that camera?? I bought you that camera? not good enough was it? Huh? huh?"

To which I had to respond "well, dear, you did buy the camera, but you bought me more than that! You bought me "photography" and if I have the better camera my photography (which you fantastically bought me as a gift, did I mention that?) will become even better"...
