What would they be.

Recently I went to a wedding that was indoors in a fairly small area. I was not the photographer this time. The photographer used only the 24-70L and 50L (on a 5DMII). That's it. At first I thought, gee that's not the two lenses I would use. But then thought she must know what she is doing. Oh and there was massive overhead lighting, so almost anything would work.

During the reception she used the 50L exclusively. Spending most of the day within a few feet of the participants. hovering over them, getting within their personal space to get closer, and generally dominating the area around the B&G.

So if you could only bring two lenses, what would they be.

My answer is
1. 24-70 2.8L, or 28-75 Tamron.
2. 70-200 2.8L, or 70-200 Sigma.

If I brought a prime I think I would pick the 85 over the 50. But maybe its just my style to be at a greater distance.

5D | 17-40L | Tammy 28-75 2.8 | 28-135 | 50/1.8 | 85/1.8 | Sony A6000 2-Lens Kit | SEL35 1.8 | EF 50 1.8 on NEX as my 75mm 1.8

I use the 50 1.4 and 85 1.8 for the ceremony, if my wife wasn't shooting with the 18-50 2.8 sigma that would be on my second camera instead of the 50 1.4

24L and 50L

Of course I'd really miss my 16-35L and 135L.

If I had good light, I'd stay zooms: 16-35 and 24-70. Two great lenses and, though I'd miss my primes, I'd rather have the flexibility than that last measure of IQ and speed.

24L and 50L for me as well, although I'd certainly miss the 16-35L and 70-200.

16-35L & 70-200 2.8 IS II

Which makes me think that a 24-70 II is in my future as it is much more useful for a full frame setup than it was on a crop. I used to have a Mk I but sold it long ago.
