Vegas Movie Studio 11 (VMS-11) purports to have a selection of 400 royalty free music tracks which can be used for videos. Here is the portion of the VMS-11 brochure...

Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum software includes 360 exclusive music soundtracks. Choose from a wide variety of royalty-free professionally created production music that can be modified to fit your movie's length. You can also import your own music directly from CDs or MP3 audio files.

I cannot find where in VMS-11 the music is located. I have both looked on youtube and in the operators manual.

The index for the manual doesn't even have an entry for music.

Where do I find the music which is supposed to come with VMS-11.

One of the reasons I purchased VMS-11 was for access to the royalty free music thatthe advertisements for VMS-11 state is included....

Yeah, I too have wasted more than a few minutes looking for it. Not to be found anywhere as far as I can tell. I too also bought the full suite version because of the music tracks. I haven't contacted Sony yet, but that's next on my hit list. Just been too busy to do it.

I bought a retail version from Amazon and it was in the a folder called content on one of the CD's. It included a folders for 1001 Sound FX, Border, Illustrations, Music, and Title Cards. There are 23 folders of actual songs but the contents of each folder has variations of each songs. For example there maybe a 15 sec clip of "Wedding March" with a varation A, B, C, and D. Then there might be a 30 sec clip of "Wedding March" with variations as well. So you're really not getting 300x songs, you're actually getting 23 songs with multiple variations. I think I have a count of 415 song files in 23 folders.

If you downloaded Vegas from Sony you may not have this bonus disk. Don't get too excited about the missing song files. They're really not that great and I don't see myself using them in any of my productions. Lol.

Check out Vimeo's music store. Pages and pages of songs and genres, a lot of it is free, just credit the artist. Way more than the 300 or so on Vegas ;)
