None of them are showing up in the thread Billy. You might want to try again and "preview" (bottom right) before posting...

I do love the light in IMG1972 - morning?

IMG1969 - you could look at getting a graduated ND filter to get a bit more exposure to the trees while preserving the color of the sky.. :)

Since you're on Flickr you might want to join some groups that focus on things you like to shoot and see what inspires you. It will help you develop your eye a bit. Another good idea is maybe get some books on composition, etc. Some of your pictures didn't give me anything to "focus" on, especially the most recent one in your photo stream.

On flickr... you can find landscape groups, portrait groups, transportation, travel, trucks... "post your best shot today" etc., etc., etc. Lots of feedback and lots of other images to look at, try to figure out and learn to improve from.

How much do you know about shooting? Do you understand aperture, shutter speed, and ISO? How much have you been shooting with manual? Do you try to control depth of field?

There is an author, Bryan Peterson, who has a lot of good photography books with an easy to understand style. If you have the basics down, "Understanding Photography Field Guide" is a great book to get - an overview of a lot of things done in photography but no nuts and bolts descriptions to really understand any topic really well. If you're not to that level yet, I'd start with "Understanding Exposure: 3rd ed., How to take great shots with any camera." Understanding how to get the exposure and how many ways you can get it (and what changes/what you control to get it) can do a lot to make it easier to get better shots. :)

The dead deer shot (I noted those but wasn't sure what your subject was supposed to be) - getting down on the ground, large aperture to reduce your depth of field and focusing on the head of the one carcass, though... kind of icky (carcass photography) would be a much more compelling photograph than from above with everything in focus. That's part of the "learning exposure" thing - learning when shallow depth of field will make a photograph better and what you have to do to do that (i.e., longer shutter speeds, maybe a tripod) and knowing when you have to have a really fast shutter speed (1/500 or faster) to stop action and what you have to change (open up aperture and/or increase ISO) to get that fast shutter speed you need. Sometimes when you let the camera make these choices for you its choices aren't as good as what you would make yourself because it doesn't necessarily know what compromises you would choose to get the shot exactly the way you want it.

Billy - go back to Flickr. On each photo, click on it so your on 'its' page. Then choose BB Code on the share menu and copy all the BB code and put it in for each picture. Don't change anything, just copy it and paste it... then click preview post so you can be sure they "worked" this time...
