Nice shots. The pier is where its at for surf photography, at least it is for me because of lack of reach.

Nice set and could use the 300 2.8 that is sitting on the ground/pier in the 1st shot. I've only shot once at a pier when I had my 100-400mm and it was probably the only time I found myself pulling the lens closer and was shooting from 100-250mm and filling the frame. Usually it's the other way around where I'm having to crop and the lens is maxed out.

More surf on the way this weekend...have fun!

It was the 400 2.8 sitting on the ground when I took the 1st pic with the 17-40. Yeah, i'm looking at surfine and it looks great again. Hope you and Alpharon enjoy as well. Thanks for droppin' by.

Nice pictures. I have never gone down there to shoot the surfers. I think I will make a trip down now. Would a 100-400mm work pretty good for that?
