Good price. I just picked up the Corsair Force III from Tiger for 139.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

it's sold out, but how would you use it w/ an imac if it's an internal drive?

i am really dumb when it comes to computers/components and making them work.

You can buy hard drive enclosures to basically turn it into an external HDD

Yes, replace the internal iMac drive with this one, it'll be a lot faster.
The drawback is you'll loose your big internal drive. You can then put your old internal drive into an external enclosure, preferably one with firewire 800 port, and hook it up to the iMac.

OCZ always have some of the fastest benchmarks, but worst reliability ratings. It makes me a bit nervous.

Sandisk makes a 120 GB SSD now that is about a $1/GB regular price. We all know Sandisk makes good memory chips, and the reviews are quite good: http://www.tigerdirect.com …?EdpNo=1413000&CatId=5300 (external link)

I'd stay away from OCZ.

AS said above OCZ are not reliable most of the time. I am a member of a big computer forum, and I see tons of issues with OCZ SSD's. Stick with Intel, Crucial, or Samsung. Sandforce controllers are just bad. Tiger Direct has the Crucial 128gb SSD for 149 right now.

Nice price but it is a lot slower than the Corsair. I have a C300 and it is twice as fast. The goal of th SSD is speed to I would look elsewhere. Like this one (external link)

Coming from a 7200RPM drive they are all going to be fast. Sequential numbers are nice to look at but pretty deceiving because what are you going to put on the other end of the IO that can read or write at more than about 100MB/s? So the only thing that can generate 500MB/s is going to be another fast SSD or a benchmark test. Random IOPS are about 80 on a 7200RPM drive, so even a crappy SSD is going to be 100 times or more faster.
