I like that one vdub.

Now, that 7D photo, while intentionally dark and highlighting the model, isn't quite that dark in LR. Can you guys see the silhouette of the camera on your end? I just noticed, when I view it in Chrome or my iPhone, it looks all dark, except for the 7D. Going to check Internet Explorer too.

Thanks guys. I'll definitely be poking through here. I still have a lot to learn, and you guys are good for teaching, and inspiration on images.

Only see the 7D badge. No silhouette for me.

So, what are potential causes of this? My monitor is not calibrated, but I've never had an issue with it before. I'm working in the same light as usual, the brightness of the monitor is where it normally is. Weird.

What's weird, is that looking at it in the Develop Module, at the last step, it appears fine. Going to the library module, it gets really dark. That shouldn't be happening, should it?

As I said, I'm totally newbie. Reading this thread I'm learning a lot from you. Today I could take a moment and take some pictures. Here is one, after processing with lightroom

Where are you hosting your pic? A lot of mine have become very dark when I have hosted them on Photobucket.

I wish my pictures were that good when I started, in fact I wish my pictures were that good now, after over 30 years of taking pics ......

No clue why it's happening. Suggestions....Why don't you try posting same pic as attachment..then you can compare to hosting site?

500px and Google+ both look the same to me... dark. The exported jpeg, on my computer, looks as I intended. In the develop module of LR, it looks as intended. But, switch to the library module of LR, and it looks really dark.

I edited the original post, with an updated image. I added brightness in the develop module, went back to the library module to export, and it was darker than the develop module. I've never noticed that before. I don't know if it's the hosting or what, but it seems to start in the library module, before export. Which is weird, since the exported jpg's show up as desired on my computer. I'll do the attachment here in a bit to see what it looks like.

Here's the attachment... Yep, just as dark here. Now, I'd suspect my monitor, but it doesn't look right in the browser to me, even though it does in LR. But, if the browsers are color managed, would that point to my monitor? Or, does the discrepency between the develop and library module of LR cause the problem? But, then, why do my exported jpg's look right? Oh well... I'll keep an eye out for that on any other images I process.

The attachment actually looks darker to me. In your original post I can barely make out Canon writing. In the attachment, I can make out even less of the Canon writing and still no silhouette.

It's the curse of the 7D...you better return that thing ASAP! :)

The original post has been updated with a new image. The attachment is the same image originally posted, the first time, that is not in the original post anymore, but originally was, or something. I have a headache.
