Asian Barred Owl

Could have been better if not for the severe back-lighting. May try to make another trip before leaving next week.

Went there especially for the 3 owlets but none seen. :(

The family nests in a really HUGE, HUGE tree. Could not get a pic of its entirety but this vid shows it off pretty well.

I think we all suffer with the same problem, I know I do anyway. I spend hours thinking thing through in my head then the moment just takes over and in a mad rush it's all gone straight out of the window, I must learn to control myself ........

Coot is still sitting on the nest - it's been two weeks now.

Nothing forgotten on these shots, my eyes are aching from looking at them, can't draw myself away.
Top job with these Trugga, my opinion is, they really do need to be in a book bw!

I may get into trouble for posting this ( 7D shot ) but wanted to share with you guys.
This black Kite was behind steel girding, I had the 17-40 on the camera and could not get a clear shot even though I was only about a foot away. I changed to the 60mm and this focused past the steel and this was what I got ( macro bird ) Lol

I like this, but you may not......The last one, honest.

LOL that one makes me want to use the macro lens on birds and see what that does. But only if closeup like that.

Great shot. 7D shot is ok I think, sameish family.
