Went over to my mom's yesterday to help her in the yard. Brought the camera along of course...managed a couple of snaps while I was there. Crops on these....

Here's another of our orchids. I try to photograph each one as they bloom. This was take in Raw with Canon T2i, EFS 15-85 60mm f8 Bracket +/- 2 EV Photomatix Pro, Photoshop CS4 Natural Light from window.

Another great shot...love the details. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Fugu. I've only had a few opportunities to use the 10-22 but i'm liking it so far. I was quite surprised I was able to fit just about the whole church into the frame. I took the shot and only upon review did I notice a telephone line running into the building! I can't wait to use this lens when I go to Costa Rica next month. Would love to get a nice volcano shot with it.

forgot to mention.. i purchased a grip.. not a canon oem.. and dont know what aftermarket name.. but came with dual battery tray, AA battery tray and 2 x 1500mah batteries (stock are 1200 or so right??)
used it and WOW is all i can say.. while it does make the camera bit heavier.. it balances out my 24-105L nicely and when just holding the camera at your side.. the contour is nice...will post some pics and try and get an actual model number off of it.. no problems so far and for portrait shots. it made taking pics so much easier...

Love the texture and the color that the rope gives this shot.

A month or so back, I got a grip too. I love it. Now I shoot even more often in portrait orientation.

I have the (unscientific) perception that two batteries in the grip last more than twice as long as a single battery in-camera...

That looks like the Meike, which is the one I got for Christmas. I agree that it's awesome. I love everything about it other than the slight change in feel of the buttons. I hardly notice though, because the feel is still high enough quality that I have no problems with half press sensitivity or anything. Still working great 5 months later, and I shoot soccer games exclusively portrait now.

Congrats on the purchase. That's about the price I paid, but I lucked out as mine came with two batteries. Prepare for battery charging quarterly. I think I've had to charge/swap mine twice since Christmas with probably 15K actuations. The batteries seem to last more than 2x compared to a single. Doesn't really make sense, but it seems like a ridiculous amount of time between charges.
