I don't usually repeat a pic but this one deserves that metallic paper. Well done.

Great catch KA. Show more of these birds, they may not be eagles but are awesome in their own right.

Well done KA .

Bobo : those are great , i love the overexposed / white background of the first and the dof and sharpness of the second .

jamganz wrote in post #14435923 (external link)
And then you post 2 beautiful barn swallows! love the dof on the 2nd shot. nice.

I hate when wildlife does not cooperate!

Nice series KA!

They, most likely, are underexposed. I don't know how to deal with harsh, late morning light. Plus, I have a tendency to underexpose my pics. Probably a beginner preference? I'll make some adjustments and see if I like it any better.

Love your #1 & 3 but leaning towards #3 more. Great bicycle man, b&w.

Great birds, KA and Bobobird!

Cute model, Monkey Mash Button! Isn't he one of the triplets from the other pic? ;)

Yup, had a frustrating time at the park with those darn, uncooperative wildlife. I came home with nothing worth posting.

Thanks folks! As soon as I got out of my car for these captures he took right off and couldnt keep up with him.
However, they are great birds to shoot!

^ Mitch, I vote #3.

These two shots are getting an unusually high amount of traffic on flickr (for me). Don't know why...

This 17-55 f2.8L is a really nice lens. This was a quick snap taken by my brother-in-law on the way into church for my daughter's first communion.

Nice family portrait. I rented that lens this past weekend and was quite impressed with it.

Could possibly be my last photo taken with the T2i, at least for now. Something is up with the memory card reader in the camera.

There have been a couple of card reader issues with this camera. You weren't very specific, so you might want to google for more info. I know I had found some people had the problem of the camera insisting the cards were locked when they weren't.

I had an issue where just three months after my warranty expired, it couldn't recognize that there was a card in the camera. Contacted Canon, and $204 later it was fixed. Seems it was a bad circuit board, but because I was past the warranty period, Canon just refused to consider it to be a manufacturing defect. The good news? I had the camera back within a week, good as new. I was not a happy camper over this entire thing though.

Hope you're still under warranty at least.

Thanks Fugu.

Don't worry about it. No keepers is what keeps us motivated. Trying reading the same book every night.... you get the idea.

Underexposure - there are 2 ways to deal with that. If you are using AV, up the EV but 1 or 2 but make sure you do not blow that background. The first couple of shots will tell you what the correct settings will be. Just make sure that when you are shooting something without the harsh background to switch the EC to whatever you are used to.

The 2nd one is bracket and merge - but do not give it a HDR treatment. Moving subjects will be a bit of challenge but can be done.

Thanks for the tips, Bobobird. I'll try the "bracket and merge". I can probably still do this by cloning the pic and applying different exposures, then merge? Experiments :)

Im having a different problem, its the "lock" that keeps the memory card in place in the t2i that im having problems with. When I insert the memory card, it just pops back out. Im out of warranty with canon but I bought the 2 accidental year warranty through the store I bought it from. Should be covered.

I hope you get it back fast, and good as new!! I was lost without my camera, even though a friend loaned me her Xsi. Just didn't feel like my camera.
