Walked around downtown and visited the famous GUM WALL in Seattle by the Pike Place Market.
It is grossed if you look at it but the whole alley smells really good because of the gums. LOL.

As gross as it is, I think it's pretty cool! I love it!

Telefragger, one of the things I know, with certainty, is that our own pictures have a special meaning and emotional attachment and we view them through rose coloured glasses, as they say. At the very least, your posting your pics for constructive criticism, has benefited more than just yourself. I learned a few things from reading the impartial opinions, as harsh as they may seem. I don't think about composition when it comes to taking family pics....I'm too lazy to compose, so I let it all hang out :)

Night shots are pretty cool, Ozzfest.

Really want to get some new glass. Any recommendations? Looking for something for shooting around the distances you guys saw in my pics. A good all around walk around lens.

Thanks in advance!

^ I've delt with a momma spider with babies on her back once in the bath tub. It makes for a good photo subject, but I had phantom crawlies on my arms and legs afterwards!

^^^ Nice shots Monkey Mash!

Nice series OZ...welcome to the thread.

Tele - i liked the shots!

Peter - If you're not dazzling us with colors of Tulips or birds, you find another colorful subject....gum!!! Very cool!! I love it. I would probably want to wear a rubber glove if I was spackling on a piece I was chewing on :-) I can imagine the smell must be a hell of a lot better than Bourbon Street at
2am!

That gum wall is awesome. Nice captures.

It actually brings back some memories. There was an amusement park in Denver (Elitch Gardens) that had a gum tree along the queue for the log ride. Being tall with a lot of vertical jump in high school, I had the highest piece up there for about three years (fluorescent yellow Extra).

I think my budget would prob be no more than say 800 to 900. If you guys know of any used that would be great too.

Thanks jamganz!

Oz, one of the things I find amusing about POTN is how everyone loves to spend someone else's money! I know I do! :) I don't know how long you've been shooting but, my advise would be to shoot for a bit and try and determine what focal lenghts you tend to shoot at. Do you only have 18-55 kit lens? If so, for starters, I would recommend the Canon ef-s 55-250 zoom. A very nice budget zoom with suprising good IQ (most times in good light). Good luck.

LOL!

I'll recommend Canon's site for factory refurb and KEH.com for used lenses.
