My 'tenant' is always active. Initially, the pair would fly away when they saw me out on the deck. Now, they are getting used to me when they see me sitting in my chair with my camera. They'll land on the rail and look at me for a bit before heading into the birdhouse. Previously, they would never go into the birdhouse if I was looking. Right, like I don't know where they live!! I have taken several shots of these guys coming and going and was going to dump this one until I cropped it and realized he was bringing home some 'lunch'....a spider! My guess is the babies be hungry! Hoping I can get one the young ones some time.

As gross as it is, I think it's pretty cool! I love it!

Telefragger, one of the things I know, with certainty, is that our own pictures have a special meaning and emotional attachment and we view them through rose coloured glasses, as they say. At the very least, your posting your pics for constructive criticism, has benefited more than just yourself. I learned a few things from reading the impartial opinions, as harsh as they may seem. I don't think about composition when it comes to taking family pics....I'm too lazy to compose, so I let it all hang out :)

Night shots are pretty cool, Ozzfest.

^^^ Nice shots Monkey Mash!

Nice series OZ...welcome to the thread.

Tele - i liked the shots!

Peter - If you're not dazzling us with colors of Tulips or birds, you find another colorful subject....gum!!! Very cool!! I love it. I would probably want to wear a rubber glove if I was spackling on a piece I was chewing on :-) I can imagine the smell must be a hell of a lot better than Bourbon Street at
2am!

That gum wall is awesome. Nice captures.

It actually brings back some memories. There was an amusement park in Denver (Elitch Gardens) that had a gum tree along the queue for the log ride. Being tall with a lot of vertical jump in high school, I had the highest piece up there for about three years (fluorescent yellow Extra).

Thanks guys I've been living here in Seattle for 20 yrs it was my first time visiting the gum wall I was surprised that a lot of people were there to take pics. I am glad you like it.

Some great shots as usual, that gum wall is gross Peter, imagine what is growing on that thing. Welcome Oz and nice series. Beautiful shot Caleb.

So anyone else curious as to what the 650D will offer and would it be worth jumping to? I'm also tantalized by the talk about a lower price point FF body. My issue is I just need more free time to get out and take some photos!

@oz welcome to the thread. Great pics. For a lens I would recommend 24-105mm L used right now is about 790 to 900 it depends where you are but that us the value in Seattle CL.

I like how the left (on the right) leg is bent in like a woman in a fashion shoot. Good expression from this bird.

Bike HDR parked in the alley. I did not realized how small is this pic when uploaded using my Iphone to my office computer to the thread.

This is one of the rare HDR images that I like. Nice work. No offense to anyone, but I just do not like 99.9% of the HDR I see. Not my bag. It's like Dorito's, or Nirvana -- just grates on me.

This bike is good :)

Asian Barred Owl (redo)

Looks like I will not be able to go back to get new shots of the owl and owlets before I return home next Wednesday. So only option for this time is to redo the severe backlighting on the ones taken earlier. Also was not all that happy with the rushed pp on shots that needed fixing.

So here are the redos.

C&C would be appreciated - better or worse?

1. (this one was not posted before)

Thanks, Bobo. If anything, this has taught me patience. Which I now carry out to the field (most of the time...ok...sometimes!).

Bobo - regarding above redo shots of owl. Much, Much better! I don't believe I commented at the time but I didn't like the backlighting either and found it a bit distracting. This is solid, IMO. Nice job.
