Mike - great facial shot. Well done.

Thanks. Was tricky, first time shooting a face, plus it was a self portrait, so framing myself was pretty tricky.

Stunning shot and processing Grumpy. Great job. A wall hanger for sure!

Thanks to you all. Here's something I just snapped while on break at work - slow night as you can see.

My son's making faces

Very nice... I llike the colors of the first two and the overall treatment of the B&W

I'm usually asleep during most nights at sunset because I work the overnight shift, happened to be up tonight driving around killing time and happened upon this swamp.

Crazy colors. That's definitely a keeper.

The usual signature shot........

I love your fly photos. This brown themed one and the green-irridescent fly are really cool photos. I like the framing you choose, epecially compared to the usual macro photography examples in the macro thread.

Great work people :)

I don't know if I like your color work or your B&W work better. You seem to hop between the 2 extremes very easily.

A few shots of my pride and joy today (Besides my camera gear lol). My Gibson Les Paul.

Very cool detail shot of the wood texture.

Brain Mechanic wrote in post #14787021 (external link)
A few Ive been working with today. I experimented a little with a bronze tinted BW look as well as a desaturated finish to get a somewhat gritty feeling. Will post more from this same location later.

I think the processing fits your intentions. I've always loved a Pontiac 4th gen with the WS6 package.

Grabbed some stills while shooting my first music video in between recording. on-going process.

The first frame works much better than the second. Nice watermark placement ;)

Just catch a few lightnings from my balcony (not the best place to take photos) but these are also my first try of lightnings :)
Hope You like them

Yes, I do like them... #5 especially. Can't beat the drama of a good lightning storm!

Dont be too impressed with gear lists...examine people's work. Having said that I recently started experimenting with vintage lenses as some guys here can corroborate. I got a mint Asahi Pentax Takumar 50mm f/1.4 lens which is awesome, much better than the nifty fifty (which I also have). With these old lenses you need to focus manually but once you get the hang of it you will love it.

Just two examples:

Not only these lenses have superb build quality, they are also generally cheaper than modern counterparts. Welcome!

DO EXPLAIN: Is there an adapter? I don't mind manually focusing but don't know anything about using older lenses on my T2i.

What's the game plan?

Thanks

Thank you. bw!

Thanks Marm- The two suns are flood lights from the jail at the bottom of the hill - The fog was rolling in about 3 am and it looked just really cool, so I just grabbed the tripod out of the car real quick and snapped off a couple.

You can use any vintage lenses that have the M-42 (Pentax style) mount to your digital Canon SLR using an adapter widely available. I would suggest one adapter with a chip included for focus confirmation. You may end up hooked to vintage glass!

Decided it was time to stop being a lazy bum, so I threw on the old nifty fifty and got up to the Portland rose test gardens and snapped some photos:
