Thank you :) .

Curious as to which textures did you use..what was the blend mode if i could ask.

Google is your friend , i often search for free textures packs , i choose from them depending on the picture , i'd upload the ones i use the most , but i don't remember the original uploaders' names to give them credit , i can PM a few if you want .

About the blending mode , it depends , most of the time i go for overlay or multiply but as i said it depends on the original picture and effect i want to achieve .

Those are some beautiful shots. How do you achieve the strong contrast? Is it a particular filter or type of camera? I'm just starting to play with Black and White Photography and I have a lot to learn.

Beautiful shots! Could you explain how you achieved number 5 "Standing in Motion" please?

All the shots were taken with the T2i (550D) + canon 85mm f/1.8 with no special filters .

The key was to shoot at harsh light to be able to get these shadows and in post processing i boosted the contrast , the textures help greatly to get the high contrast effect , you need to keep trying different black and white textures with different blending options and opacity levels , each shot can have up to 5 textures blended , depends on what you have and what you want to reach .

As i already said , use google to find textures pack , many of them are available and free , and if anyone wants , i can send you the ones i use the most in PM .

let me know if i still have any questions :)

I attached a copy of the EXIF ,, as you can see i used a shutter of 1/25 seconds , the train was just leaving the station , so i wanted a shutter speed that would capture the movement of the train but at the same time a speed that's not to slow that i'll lose the details of the wagon .

This guy was standing right behind the train (from my POV) and luckily (for me) in Egypt , sometimes trains leave with the doors open , probably that was my third attempt , i missed him in the first 2 wagons but was finally able to capture him .

and for the post processing , i did some contrast / brightness adjustments and blended a couple of textures .

to Recap : Train moving slowly w/ doors open + the guy was off the train + relatively slow shutter speed .

hopefully this helps :)
