Remove clutter from around the Pigeon to make it more the focus Isolate pigeon and color correct with curves/levels, unsharp the pigeon 85, 1, 4. Color correct back ground seperatly.

Add Contrast to overall image.

Personally I would do a compromise between the OP image and tmoore's color change. OP image needs to be slightly warmer. I find it hard to locate the focus of the photo. The green apple gets lost in the green grass. Composition is fairly good, but would shift it to the right a bit.

gull... pigeon... i'm staring at a bird's bum and an apple core! the composition doesn't do it for me, unless you were just practicing on manual mode - what's your exif?

I prefer your original to the edited version btw!
