Broken New 50mm 1.2L

Hey guys hi recently bought this lens and when i took it out of the box i found a crack on the mirror....i took it back to the shop but they are not willing to replace it since they are asserting that i droped the box somewhere....what should i do?

what the? did you not check the lens first before you bought it?

yea i checked it but i think the shop owner might have replaced it while handing it over to me

go back, put your foot down and tell them you sold me a lens with a crack in it and Im not leaving until you replace it and maybe contact a lawyer.

why would you not check the lens before actually buying it. did the store not take it out of the box and at least prove that a 50L was in the box?

the local store near me that is the only pro photo store takes all gear out of the box in front of you and hands it to you or at least shows it to you before ringing it up.

^this. No way can the focus screen cover/lens crack in a box.

And where did you buy this lens so we can all stay away from this retailer.

Please post the name of the vendor trying to strong arm you like this. I hope their name posted on this thread helps convince them that its in their best interest to refund your money.
