I love the lens/flash I bought, that was recommended to me here. So, what's next?

What do you feel you can't get in your images right now? Or is there another area of photography you'd like to dive into? Ultra-wide angles? Macros? Home studio?

More accessories like a sturdier tripod/head combo?

Why do you feel you should buy anything?

I say 5Dmk2 and a 35L.

Just a little better glass than what came with the camera. The 50mm hasn't left my camera since I bought it. I love it and I definitely noticed a difference between that, and what I had.
But now I am missing zooming in and out.

Nothing I really want to get into. I take pics of my kiddo for fun, or if we go somewhere (like San Diego a few weeks ago) I took pics of the water/buildings, etc.

The tripod I have works well. There are plenty of little accessories I would like to have. Battery grip, lens hoods, stuff like that.

Well better glass, let's see... 17-55 f2.8, Sigma 17-50 f2.8 for candids will probably work great.
On the long end, 70-200 f4 IS is great if they're running around farther away.

Now you're going to have a to get a sturdier tripod :P hahaha.

I think I would look at upgrading the bottom end of the kit lens. The perfect upgrade is the 17-55 2.8 IS, but thats pretty spendy. An alternate might be the sigma 17-50.

keep taking pictures until you reach a point where you can't accomplish what you have in your head with what you have in your hands...once your gear starts limiting you it's time to upgrade your lenses...and when that happens you won't have to ask what to get necessarily...you'll have it nailed down as to what you want in your next lens...yeah there may be different alternatives, but you'll know exactly what you're looking for

That actually makes a lot of sense and is kind of the process that led up to me getting the 50, which I have used a lot!

So, if you like your 50.. what do you like particularly about it? Is it the sharpness, the speed (f/1.8), the length, or all of those?

There is the Sigma 30mm f/1.4. Built well, great image quality, and you have the f/1.4 ;)

And then spend the remainder of that cash on say, a 70-200 f/4 as an upgrade to your 55-250

Sharpness, without a doubt!
