Cornstalks in snow..

I would love to get some feedback on this picture. I have looked at it on two different monitors, and I get the feeling it is a lot more blown out than I think it is....

Aah...what does your histogram show?

On my monitor, it doesn't seem like any clipped highlights.
The giant watermark is kind of distracting though... just FYI.

Thank you for the input. The watermark is there to make a point. I had a couple of very nice wildlife pics stolen and actually posted on a hunting website that I was a member of.. lol.... So I sent the guy a message and told him he could have all the prints off my flickr he wanted but he would have to deal with my signature to show everyone who actually took the photos... (he was banned from the site as well..)

Oh I totally understand the reasoning. I'd just hate to think that it's overpowering your image, you know? I can barely take in the cornstalks without my eye being drawn back to the watermark over and over.

With a watermark that obtrusive, you may win the "Don't steal my image" war, but you'll lose the "Hey, doesn't my image look great?" one.
Maybe something smaller, or just text? Not to really pick here, but I'm having trouble even deciphering what the watermarked image IS. My logical brain is trying to make it into some kind of bear (because of the name), but I just can't see it. Maybe that's partly why I can't reconcile its presence... I can't tell what it is, and yet it's SO noticeable. My advice is to re-think that portion of the design so people CAN recognize your mark, since that's what's important to you.

This is just not a suitable scene for a photograph, unless you're just doing a camera or lens test. A frontal view of wire fencing, well you'd have to be extremely creative to make anything of that. Based on the subject heading, there are some cornstalks in the photo; presumably they're the inarticulate shapes behind the fencing. They are indiscernable as cornstalks because they're occluded by the wire fencing and snow. The wire fencing, in addition to being bad because it's, well, wire fencing, is out of alignment with the frame, which is also rather jarring to the eyes.

I dislike making a negative critique, but I sincerely hope to help. Stay encouraged and keep shooting and keep posting!

Too Distracted, yest it is a bear. Actually it is the tattoo that is on my surgically repaired shoulder to cover the scars. I am working on making it more visible, and smaller....

David, thanks for the information. I am still working on getting my composition right with these kind of shots. That said, I really took the shot to work on my PP with a lot of snow in the picture. That is why I asked if it was blown out. I seem to have issues with things being way out of whack when there is snow in the picture for some reason. I am wondering if I need new glasses.

And you can count on me keeping shooting, and posting.. The only way to get better is to get others input that have more experience than I do. After all, I would not expect you to know how to strip down a 1911 style .45 ACP to pins and springs, but I can do it blindfolded. All it takes is practice.
