fOR $3500-4000.00,,, A LOT OF PEOPLE WILL BE LOOKING FOR CLEAN LOW COUNT 1dmkiv'S. nO oNE CAN ANSWER THIS UNTIL THEY PUT OUT WHATS GOING TO BE ON THE 5d3 AND WHAT THE AF SYSTEM WILL BE LIKE....MKIV IS ONE HECK OF A CAMERA
That's what I think as well. If my pricing and the rumor specs are close, the decision will come down to full frame + insane high ISO files vs 1.3x crop factor and fps.

It all depends on the ISO before it can kill off sales on the 1D MKIV thus possible reductions in price.
Tbh, I don't expect prices to reduce much if at all
From what I've seen in Canon's samples of the 1Dx, the high ISO files are fairly clean. If the next 5D follows this performance, I think people will definitely snag up a 5D in a compact body instead of a 1D4.

If those price estimates are true d800 will sell like crazy
The D800 is a different camera and targeted at a different style of photography than the 5DIII/X (and 1D4) specs. Based on the high ISO files from the D800 I've seen so far, I haven't been too impressed. Nikon ditched their budget FF/low MP action camera in place for a slower, noisier, high MP body. There's a lot of D700 users and desires who need something to fix their itch.
