Thanks for posting here. My father-in-law flew them in the RAF during WW2 and he will be thrilled to see these great pictures and the entire thread as it unfolds. (he uses as his avitar in other fora a picture of himself sitting in his cockpit just before takeoff...taken in '45)

I'm a pilot and photos like these just thrill me. I never got to fly anything like that I was civilian so no military. Would be a big thrill though!:D:D:D
