This is first time doing photography. After reading a couple of books and so many articles, I decided and bought canon T3i, and this is the result.

P.S. please I really need your comments to improve myself thanks in advance.

The first picture:
Try to focus on one of the flowers instead of all of them, this makes it more intriguing for us to watch.

The second picture:
This shows why a single object is more interesting in a picture, you are drawn to the rose, the background is not distracting (not a big surprise since its black) but try to play with a more colourful background with some nice depth of field (external link) :).

I like the composition and use of negative space in the rose picture, but I would bump up the exposure slightly-it looks a bit dark on my monitor. Good job, and welcome!
