to me its not a good bird photo as the bird is too small and you cant see any detail.

as far as a photograph goes, its ok.
It would be better if the light was straight vertical, its a bit distracting.

dont take my comments wrong, Im sure you have produced better images than me plenty of times.

Composition is nice, but I just don't see the bird.....(yes, I know it's there but see the above post)

Yea, I knew it was "iffy" which is why I asked. At times I really like it and then I go, but is it really good? Thanks for honest feedback guys.

I like the idea, just dosent have the impact that one would expect and draw your attention in. ( more detail ) Cool idea though

I think it's easy and not necessarily a good thing to become detail obsessed. Sometimes it's not all about how close you can get to a subject. Sometimes that's not what makes a good photo.

I think it's an interesting shot but for black and white I think it would have been better served if the bird and lamp overlapped the cloud. The greatest area of contrast should usually be where you want your focal point to be and right now that isn't the bird. My eye immediately goes to the base of the lamp. So that's what you need to consider when thinking black and white in my opinion.
