Asking all Kata 3n1 owners & ex-owners..

i've heard about the 3n1 being a great bag, but most have mentioned if fully loaded, the backpack strap tends to be spongy/ bungy type of feel.

i went to a local cam shop today and they said the point of that design was to not let the bag feel that heavy when walking. (not sure if that's logical or not).

anyways, i'm looking into the KATA 3n1 - 25PL which the size is matching to what i'm looking for without looking like i'm a ninja turtle on my back.

so if you current own or have previous own one, please let me know your experience and opinion.

wow.. 61 read, but no one using a KATA 3n1?

3n1-25PL is relatively new, plus price is almost double of 3n1-22, I was looking at it long and hard but no way I am going spend that amount of money on sling bag. Lowepro pricing is much more reasonable.

^^ yup.. saw that review. but tried to contact the OP, haven't heard back yet. but other than that from dpreview.. didn't find it elsewhere for the review.

I'm still using my Kata 3n1-20, especially for macro photography.

I don't use the sling option anymore because once I loaded up my bag, it puts a strain on my shoulder after a short while. I use the backback option nowadays but I'm still able to access the side opening to take out my gear without putting the bag down.

thanks Ronnie.. i tried on the 3n1-20, but the bag a bit too small for me and the 30 was too big. so hopefully the 25 would be a good choice. eitherway, great review on the 20.

btw.. what kind of strap are you using on your camera? i saw it on the review.. it looks very comfy.

I have both the 3n1-20 and the 3n1 33. They're great bags. Plenty of well thought out storage space. Plenty of loading and access options. Of course, the 33 gets heavy especially with lots of gear and a laptop. The top compartment in the 20 is a little small. The 25 should be a good compromise.

It felt pretty comfortable. spongy didn't come to mind though.

My pal with the same bag as mine complained that it is tight with her Canon 5D gripped. Kata don't have a 3n1-25 model then, and the 3n1-30 is too big. Now they have the Kata 3n1-25 PL which is slightly bigger than the -20. It should fit your needs

Btw, the strap on my camera is the discontinued Kata Reflex C and it is indeed comfy. Kata has new camera straps to replace the Reflex C & E.

Too bad 3n1-25 PL does not fit 70-200 attached or I'll be all over it, Kata has mail in rebate going on right now.

trust me brother.. i've been eyeing the kenti for a long time. but they won't have stock till end of march, which sucks cuz i need it before then.
