Anyone have experience with or opinion of the Asus N55SF?
I like what I read about it, need it primarily for photo work.
What first caught my eye was the Del, but too many people noted how loud it is.
Thanks

Never had an Asus laptop, but use their mobos exclusively in desktops so they get a thumbs up from me.

But stay away from Dell. Seriously.

Personally, I've been using a sony vaio for the past 3 years and its not had any major problems whatsoever. Screen is great for photo editing too, good colours.

I would never purchase a Dell desktop - primarily because I can and have built my own over the past 6-8 years. However, I have owned or used 5 or so (both work and personal) Dell laptops over the past 5 years and have only had a problem with one of them... which they ended up replacing every part of (minus the casing, keyboard, and HDD - but including the screen) when I had an issue with it not accepting Windows Updates (Vista).

I love dell laptops, that's all I buy in my house we currently have 4. Get the 2-3 year support contract and don't worry about it. If it breaks they send some out of you mail it in. My son shattered his screen and we sent it to cell and a week later it was back.

Some of the older laptops were loud but that was common with all vendors. I never notice oils problems on mine.

My husbandis IT Network admin and he is not a fan of dell at all. I have had the mini Asus and loved it. I do not know about the model you are looking at but we used a few Asus and they have all been good.

I do corp it too have for 15 years . Ive been through IBM's, HP's, Dell's, and Asus. Cost vs availability of support, public resources, and aftermarket parts I believe dell win over them all. I like HP's line of business laptops but they are more expensive than dell. I don't like HP's personal laptops though.

Guess it all comes down to preference and price
