Is snowball blasting a sport??? :D

My son went out and played with his snowball blaster today, and I got a few fun shots. Not too keen on the background or composition........but like his expressions! I shot them in AV mode, F5.2. Any advice is appreciated, I think lighting and exposure are my downfalls........

Think this would be more appropriate under "Kids & Family".

I guess it would fall under 'recreation' unless you could come up with some rules and keep score some how. Kinda like paintball. ;)

As far as the photos ... I dunno, might be more interesting if you'd see him actually shooting a snowball or hitting someone.

Hey, how come you live in Virginia and have all that snow while up here in Wisconsin we don't have ANY!!

Paintball would definitely be a sport.
About the photos you should try getting in front of him next time, obviously not to be shot with it but to get more of the expression and possibly even the snow ball coming out.

Yeah, I was kind of wondering about that......it can be moved if need be. ;)

This one is a little more in front.......but I don't like the background. I was more doing snap shots than anything anyway. But, I still thought they were fun. ;)

Just for the sake of constructive criticism, next time, position your camera so it's on the same plane as your son's chest. This slight shift will completely change the perspective and bring the viewer into your "son's world".

A simple tip that will vastly improve your compositions...
