I believe that you believe correctly Jason.
The first 2 images are dynamite, but the 3rd image (assuming the same bird) gives away the species. All very well captured.

Yes it is the same bird. As soon as he spotted me he started gaining altitude. Even though that shot was a long ways off, I liked how all of the feathers were spread out.
