Is the Kata really worth the xtra money? I have seen the Lowepro for $80/plus shipping. I want to put my 20d/18-55, 100macro, 100-400L, and accessories in it.

I cannot find a weight on the Lowepro. Kata says 2.8lbs. Anyone know the weight of the Lowepro?

thanks

Yes, and more. It is by far the best made bag I have had in 40+ years of photography. Check out www.midwestbags.com (external link)

They usually have the best prices on bags of any sort.

not a lot of places carrying the Kata brand. Seems those that do have similar pricing with Adorama cheapest by $4.00

It is actually the best as far as carrying also. It is designed so that it really hugs your body like no other also. The build is also the best. I love mine.

Midwest bags does not charge S&H on this item and also you get a free gift. That really lowers the price some.

You will not be disappointed with this bag.

how about the lens swapping...did it take a while to get used to compared to a shoulder bag. All i ever used is a shoulder bag.

I also recommend the Kata R-102. For a backpack the swapping is pretty good. This pack has a zipper in the middle of the back that opens only the camera w/attached lens. So to remove the camera it's very easy. To take out other lens. You'd have to open the backpack and it's similar to other packs.

The advantage of the Kata for me is the build, the fit, and the ease of removing the camera.

SolPics, does all of ur listed equipment fit in that case?

I guess i will just miss the on the fly lens swapping, but not much choice since i cannot deal with shoulder bags anymore, especially with the 100-400L

I got the Kata R-102 last week and love it. They are more expensive then most packs but you will see why. The protection is unreal. Mine was very stiff when I first got it but it has loosened up and the zippers are easier to work.

Enjoy your Kata backpack.

No, I can get two out of three of my zooms, and all three primes., flash and Tcon.
