This pack has a zipper in the middle of the back that opens only the camera w/attached lens. So to remove the camera it's very easy. To take out other lens. You'd have to open the backpack and it's similar to other packs. SolPics

The protection is unreal. Mine was very stiff when I first got it but it has loosened up and the zippers are easier to work.
