I'm purchasing a Custom Brackets QRS35EV bracket and also want to get a tripod (I'm looking at getting the 3001BN or 3011BN legs with a 486RC2 compact ball head). My question is, do I need to get Custom Brackets QR plate, or can I just use the quick release system of the 486RC2? If I have to get the QR plate, will it still work with the 486RC2, or should I get just the 486 head without the quick release? Hope this isn't too confusing... thanks for the help!!

Can't tell from their web site. Call and ask if their bracket has a female 1/4-20 threaded hole on the bottom. If so, you can attach the Bogen QR plate to it easily. If not, maybe you can drill and tap the hole that you would need.
