Trip out with my G1x that I hadn't used for about 4 months now, an autumn scene of one of the woodland streams at Hebden Bridge in the UK. Manual exposure was a guess at 4 seconds.

How has the camera held up for you? Are you happy with it? I’m interested in getting one

Still doing a good job, the G1x has always had a good sensor to lens combination, each model upgrade has always had less noise, quicker focus speed and kept really good image quality. I would have had the mk 111 version by now but I travel light these days with my DSLR.
I've looked at the Fuji's and Sony's with the same image quality but when I pick up the G1x the ergonomics feel right and the canon menu system is the best in my opinion. The rotating LCD screen on the Mk1 and mk111 was the way to go, also all the G1x's have always been decent for dynamic range and the shadows and highlights from it is just adding to the image quality.

Couldn't agree more, small Canons feel right and I am so pleased that sensors have become larger. I also use the fully articulated screen on my G5 X a lot.

A few years back my brother in law needed a camera for a trip and I sold him my canon G1X point and shoot cheap. He recently gave it back to me as he does not use it. I forgot what a great little camera it is, rivals DSLR quality , happy to have it back in my collection, This is Toby my sisters cat in a dark room with window light

You had better weather than I did on my last visit to Arromanches!

Nice photos. And that's a beautiful vehicle. Really clean and simple.

Thank you, EOS-Mike. When I get a moment to myself I am going to clone out the two bystanders in the first image and do a period b&w conversion to it.

Period B&W based on some genuine images of the same period in my possession, but without trying to apply digital ageing.

This hillclimb special looked and sounded lovely.
Notice the double tyres on the rear to increase traction.

Playing with motion blur to increase the feeling of being hurled round the hairpin (called Pardon Hairpin because it is all too easy for a driver to out brake themselves and run straight on in to the gravel trap).
