Went to the B + Q store this morning for a wall light switch, thought I would call at the nearby Old Wigan Pier Complex. As the G1x travels with me most of the time managed to take a couple of shots around the trencherfield mill heritage centre.
Olde Cars at the Olde Mill:
As much as I appreciate the cars, it's the monstrosity behind them that gets my attention! What was that? A fan for an old, albeit large, boiler? I love industrial displays like that! Thanks for your excellent pictures Judder Man. You look to live in an area that provides a wide level of stuff to photograph.
Skipwortjg,
The place is Wigans Heritage Cente, the old monstrosity at the back is an old refurbished mine shaft ventilation fan from I think about 1910. Its an interesting place inside is once of the largest working industrial steam engines that use to operate all the cotton machines over 6 floors.
Occasionally we get some modern sculptors turning up and leaving some of there works of art there for a couple of weeks.
Thought the vintage cars which suddenly appeared this morning was very apt of a bygone age.
I don,t like to dwell on any particular topic in photography, sometimes I get satisfaction taking shots of pots and pans as well as some exotic landscape scene. Pretty lucky in that I work away in the week and on my commute can pass through some nice areas of the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales.
EDIT: (That was because I had Safety MF turned on)
