This image is a retake of a similar image done a few months ago, this time shot showing the 3 surfaces of the building structure. This will be my 2nd image of a series of 3 where there is colour abstract on the left with a modern roofline on the right. Just need to find another one to complete the set.

If its a nice sunny morning, I divert down the country lane to pass through Furness Abbey less than a mile away. Constructed in 1123 A.D. by King Stephen for the Cistercian Monks, it was the second most richest cistercian abbey in the UK in the middle ages around 1537 A.D.
Sadly it is in danger of collapse because the foundations are constructed from solid english oak which is now in a decaying condition.

There seems to be some sort of white fringing around the silhouetted trees in some of these pics. Is that a chromatic aberration?

Hi all, had the camera for a few weeks now and thought it time post some of my "efforts". In last few weeks I have not even picked up the 50D and the bag full of lenses that seem to travel with it, I am finding that I am taking many more shots with this camera just because of its portability.

A few sunrises and sunsets from the dry central north country.

Hi Liongate,
Its not CA its my fault as I oversharpened prior to JPEG conversion which introduced some artifacts during compression I am still learning to prepare pics for the web. In the raw file there is no CA at all. I would have to say that the lens on this camera exhibits no more CA than any of my best L lenses.

After yesterdays ground level shoot of Furness Abbey. Decided to look at a higher level viewpoint. Here you can see how the Cistercian Abbey is hidden away in its own shallow valley, the trees are very green at the moment and you can see the Lake District mountains in the background some 15 miles away.

Always do exposure bracketing in most of my static shots, in the G1x I,m shooting Jpegs which means they are more saturated than the raw files.
