Very nice series Judder; I especially like that last shot. The composition is excellent!

2nd and 3rd images like the best, nice warm light on the 3rd image with lots of interesting detail. Did you use a polarizer on any of these shots.

EDIT: 4th image as well.

Judder,

Love the composition and color on your Staveley Ground photo. I found a polarizer that fits my G1X. I assume you are using one on all your landscapes.

Love it...

Charlie,

I tend to use the polarizer when the sun is a bit to high to negate the refections it also helps against the UV at that time of day.
Also always use it with water shots, I always find the G1x struggles with reflected surfaces especially certain waxy green leaf.
There are 2 examples on my flickr link of birks bridge, one with the 5D with a polarizer the other with the G1x without polarizer, the G1x shot lacks mood in the image.

Thanks Judder. Once the weather clears around here over the weekend, I will start using my polarizer on the G1X. Your landscapes have loads off " pop " in them.

Thanks for all you do...

We were promised good weather and light today so it was an early morning 11/2 hour trip to the Llandudno/Conwy region in wales. Suprised that the mk11 put in a good fight with my 5Dmk111.

The G1X has one he'll of a sensor Judder. Love the graphic nature of the cliffs in the first image.

Cheers Charlie,

The cliffs around the Great Orme are very variable, they had resurfaced the 4 mile Marine Drive many years ago, its been a long time since I visited last.
The first image is on the east coast with direct sunlight, the second image is on the north coast with shadowed sunlight.
There are some centuries old copper mines up there, so it might be worth a re visit for me.

I love going to Conwy. Picture to follow. Not from a G1X.

From October.

Tapeman,

We sat at that very same position this afternoon with my wife with a cool beer each. I have lots of shots taken with the 5D from the top of the city walls.
The G1x mk11 put in a good performance today, I thought my copy was over exposing 1/2 a stop but with the good light it seemed OK.
We,ve got to know Wales again these past couple of years so we do a 1 or 2 day tour every 6 weeks.
