I am interested to hear what you folks think of these photos. Favorite, least favorite and why. Thanks for looking.

5/6 favorites
2 least favorite

# 5/6: captured the dog's face and eyes...good character shots and expressions. I see them and immediately think "faithful".

# 2: motion is stopped and I assume he's running...but with the high shutter speed (1/1600) that stopped the action there's no hint of motion. His legs are frozen in an awkward, close-in position...looks precariously balanced and might "tip over" at any time. If this was part of a sequence, it could be awesome to show four shots of the different leg positions during an all-out run in the park. Also, if you have a shot where his legs are stretched out in the flat out run, that would convey the speed better.

Thanks for sharing your best friend.

70-200L, 28-70L, 24-105L, 300L, 50, 10-17 fish, 2.0x TC
Image editing OK, encouraged, and expected. Thank you for helping me learn!

^^^
+1 Really good advice there.

I like to push buttons on thingies that take pictures. Sometimes I like to push other buttons, too.
I only bite on the second Tuesday of every week, usually only mean people - they kinda taste like chicken...

Thanks both for your comments/replies. It is interesting your comments on my action photograph, as I thought the same thing at first, but conflicted on whether I like the the tension it creates. I was interested to hear what others comments might be.

5/6 favourites here too. 5 has the best light of all the shots, 6 has a nice clean background. Both get the face and eyes, even if not looking directly at the camera.

I see what you were trying to do in 2, but it doesn't quite work. The captured pose is too awkward.

7 least favourite - the eyes are too dark to see and the pose isn't otherwise interesting. The background in 7 though has the most interesting colours...
