I have browsed the forum and seen plenty of people asking for ND filter advice, but haven't exactly found a similar situation to what I am in as far as budget and practicality goes...

I am looking at different 10 stop ND filters, and understand the LEE big stop is very high rated, for good reasons based off photos I've seen. However, this filter is backordered and I've heard it's taken around 4 months to reach people sometimes due to high demand...
Well, I am not exactly looking to wait 4 months for a filter, so as an alternative I was looking at the B+W 110 ND filter(77m). It is both cheaper, and available, both of which I like. Would it really be worth the wait and extra $40 for the LEE?
On a side note the LEE also requires buying the kit in order to attach it to a lens, as well as an adapter... so i dont know if im really willing to drop around 300 for a filter right now.

Also, I am looking to buy a well built, affordable tripod. I am not looking for any CF legs or anything - the weight isn't the issue really, nor would I spend the money on those, yet. I have heard good things about Induros. So I am looking at their adventure series as a solid, all around use tripod. If anyone has any input on either of these issues, would love to hear from you guys.

9 stop ND500 from www.LightCraftWorkshop.com (external link). No color cast and affordable. Love mine. Induro tripods I believe, are rebranded Benro products. I own two Benro heads and a set of carbon legs and have no regrets.

I actually have used the B+W 10 stop for a while now, and even though I just picked up a Lee 10 stop, it really did produce great results. I am actually posting my B+W for sale in the for sale section in a little while. PM me if you're interested. Its in perfect shape.

I have been on the Lee waiting list at B&H and Adorama since november... but in the meantime I picked up a Hi-Tech Pro 10 Stop - and so far have been somewhat pleased. There is a slight color cast (I would say its a muted yellow/green maybe) but it can be dealt with in post.

If weight isnt an issue for you, lots of people have gone with the Manfrotto 055XPROB legs and 492 head. For ~250 new and much cheaper used they are pretty solid, I will say that I had that combo for about a week and it was way too heavy for me and I can't even consider going back after getting my Gitzo and Markins setup. But for a 1/3 of the price it is still a great deal.
