I frequently visit this section of the forum however I have never posted anything so I thought I would share a few of my captures. I really appreciate the aviation threads and some of the images being captured. I noticed the propeller was completely stopped in some of these images so a slower shutter speed should have been used. I spent quite a bit of time in the monochrome thread today and there is definitely some awesome work being performed. One of these days I need to try my hand at full scale aircraft. C&C welcome.

Very nice. I happened by a local RC field last summer and tried to get some shots in, definitley want to go back and try some more. The prop blur on the small planes seems harder.

Those are some BIG planes!

Some of those are pretty large RC's THere is a field right by the basin I shoot BIF, and there are always a few guys out there with Jet RC's that I should pay more attention to. One has a F/16 in an Israeli camo paint scheme and another with an F/15 in standard Air Force drab grey.

Really nice shots but with the RPM of these engines. Slow down your shutter :)

Some great looking aircraft and excellent flying. They look to be "big" electrics with the possible exception of the last one. As someone who shoots a lot of R/C I'd recommend shutter speeds in the 1/400-1/800 range for props but if you start shooting jets (EDF or gas turbine) you can shoot much faster depending on desired background blur. For jet like planes using a prop stay with the slower settings. For heli's I try to get down in the 1/250-1/320 range. 3D heli's can be a real challenge due to how fast they can change direction.

A skill is developed through constant practice with a passion to improve, not bought.
