There is an interesting take on all of this and it has a lot to do with the rise of the digital age. The education system has remained mostly analogue and has not kept up with the times. To your point rise of tv channels with 100's of channels, advanced video games, ipods/ipads etc provide such interactive channels that to ask a kid to sit down in front of a dated book and listen to a teachers can seem as old as a dinosaur. The quick inclination is that the child suffers from ADHD because they cant focus and are bored by the medium in which the education is being delivered. But who can blame them? Im just happy im not growing up during these times because i would have been drugged up in trying to control my "ADHD"

I am totally ADD. It affects the way you learn. I can sit down and watch the History channel and recite word for word everything it spits at me, yet if I sit in a classroom, I'll be daydreaming in 10 minutes or less.

Actually, I think ADD/ADHD may be caused by excessive visual and auditory stimulation (TV!) during early develpmental stages.

I think that might have something to do with it. I also believe it has to do with over diagnosis. People these days want everything to be a damn disease or disorder or something.

ADD has been around for a while, it was a beneficial trait before because it allowed warriors to do better on the battle field. These days we are do specialized tasks that require single focus... GONE ARE THE WARRIOR DAYS! THIS IS MADNESS!!! SPARTA!!!!

Wow... crazy... 5 times a day... Do you use a traditional toothbrush? If so I would like to recommend Sonicare. I use to have cavities and discoloration, but since I got the Sonicare, it was been smooth sailing :D

My dentist "donated" a Rota-Dent rotatary brush to me for free three weeks ago. Apparently since I'm spending all my $$$$$ at her office, she has no problem handing out freebies. :-P

100/100 people have no taste and need to be thrown into the volcano nearby. You're in Hawaii for christ's sake....surely there is something decent to eat!

Spam is the top choice for residents in Hawaii:

"In Hawaii, Spam is so popular it is sometimes referred to as "The Hawaiian Steak". One popular Spam dish in Hawaii is Spam musubi, where cooked Spam is combined with rice and nori seaweed and classified as onigiri"

Spam musubi actually sounds scrumptious!

I believe it. It is very fascinating what is going on these days and the diagnosis leading from the lack of classroom involvement.

Yeah man i was surprised when i learned a few years ago how popular spam is in Hawaii. It was introduced there during world war II. When pearl harbor was bombed the ports were closed thus Spam went scarce. When the ports opened up the citizens demanded Spam be one of the first shipments it received. As they say the rest is history

That's what happens to me.

If I find something interesting I will absorb it like a sponge... if it's not interesting, I can't get myself to pay attention to matter what I try.

Hmm... I wasn't aware Sonicare made a rotory style brush, was it an Oral B?
