Thanks baan :) I'm sooo looking forward to it! Have you seen my gear list as well? I'm getting a Gitzo 3340L as well :D

I agree. Ben! You're up!

Really? See I want the 2.8 mk II because it's a bit bigger (sounds dumb), but I feel like a bigger lens is just.. cooler? :p. But that's good, for me, it IS money, if I get the f/4 IS that means I can get the 135L, and still get a 50 1.4.

That's beautiful Monkey!

I'll think of something good! ;)

It would take a few pages to explain but, I'll give you short summary.

1) The RAWs that I choose for the blend is critical. I only do minor adjustments in LR and fix everything later( distortion, dust spots, etc.)
2) First is always WB and CA( if it's present). That is the only thing I correct since I can adjust the colors, hues, etc. later.
3) Next take it into PS and layer the three images one of top of the other.
4) Next, I use layer masks to blend in each image and brush in what I need. This is very tedious. If you're not patient with painting and blending, it's not going to be fun.
5) On top of that I add more adjustment layers. Contrast, sat, etc.
6) Once I get the image the image done to my liking, I check each layer to see if there's any fine detail that needs work. After that I merge into one.
7) After that, look at the entire image and fix any distortion and clean up the dust spots.
8) Reinspect the image at 100% crop to make sure I didn't miss any more dust spots. I know. I'm pretty anal.
9) If I need more adjustments, I'll usually add more contrast to give it more pop.
10) The final step is sharpening. I have different presets for web and various print sizes.
That's it. It's difficult to explain my workflow bcoz' it's not set in stone. :)

In the future, you can get all that DR from one shot of the D800. ;)

Strike me pink, and I complain if I have to do a slight sharpen and contrast adjustment, rather than just size and convert

That's what I thought the gist of it was. When you are talking about layer masks and painting in what's needed in the image, that is why I love PS! I actually love trying to brush in those little details.

It seems pretty easy what you mention (at least that's how it seems), I guess for me though it would be knowing when enough saturatino is enough. Thanks for the info though :).

hahahaha.... I think what I need to change is my shooting habit, take like 10 shots and PP them for an hour each rather than take 200 shots and PP them for 2-3minutes each
